Choosing your Module 1 film

Read through these options and view the trailers to help make your decision, then let us know your choice.

The standard version of 4 Seasons of Reconciliation features the film Economic Reconciliation, which is most popular among our clients and learners.

You can continue with this film being featured in Module 1, and the rest of the films will be available to all learners through the Bonus Library at any time; or you can select a different film to feature.
If you would like to select a different film to feature in Module 1, here are the options we have available.

Your learners will always have access to all the Reconciliation documentary films through the Bonus Library, regardless of which you feature in Module 1.

 

Economic Reconciliation

While the TRC’s Call to Action #92 invites Corporate Canada to adopt the principles of reconciliation, Indigenous leaders pave the way forward towards finding concrete solutions that can help fuel economic growth and benefit the entire country. The short film, Economic Reconciliation, features Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders sharing their insights and a hopeful glimpse at a respectful and prosperous future. The film demonstrates that reconciliation is key to economic certainty and prosperity in Canada.

3rd World Canada

Kitchenuhmaykoosib lnninuwug (the people of the lake ) is a remote Indigenous community bound by reserve laws in the forgotten North of Ontario. This Nation dates back to 6,000 years where bones of their ancestors were discovered on the shores of Big Trout lake. Today this proud Nation is deeply impoverished in 3rd world conditions bound by Treaty laws signed by their non-English speaking ancestors. Set in the backdrop of the aftermath of the suicide of three parents, the documentary explores the impact of 3rd world conditions on children and a community's courage in looking after them.

Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA): Economic Reconciliation & 3rd World Canada

If you're struggling to choose between Economic Reconciliation and 3rd World Canada, you may want to give the choice to your learners!
With this version of the course, your learners will read the synopses for both films, watch the trailers, and they can then choose to watch one or both of Economic Reconciliation and 3rd World Canada. This way, they can choose their own viewing adventure by picking one or both.
Recommended for: organizations who work in many spheres, large groups, diverse groups

Please note that with the CYOA version, learners will need to complete a 3-question quiz for both films, regardless of which they've watched. These quizzes are not marked, so please consider them learning opportunities rather than grades.
